Description
Group of 6 to 854 Captain Ian McGregor. McGregor joined the Union Defence Force and completed an officers training course at the SA Military College. Attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, posted to Royal Natal Carbineers South African Armoured Corps , Tanks in the Middle East, promoted to Lieutenant, seconded to the RAC UK Forces in Italy, attained the rank of Captain within the UK Forces. Service records confirm full medal entitlement be the 1939-1945 star Africa star Italy star defence medal war medal 1939-1945 and Africa service medal. Included in the group are 30 pages of research from the SA Archives, as well as his original medal entitlement slip.
